Northern Lights

© DebBee’s Designs. All Rights Reserved

$120
Teacher: Debbie Rowley
9:00am-4:00pm
Maximum: 24
Ghost option available

The Northern Lights dance and gleam in a sparkly night sky, casting a reflection on the hills and river below! The hills are stitched with Watercolours, using a diagonal cashmere stitch while Waterlliles creates a shimmery river in the Milanese stitch. The northern lights are defined by cross stitches, then long staggered straight stitches with four colors of DMC Satin Floss. The night sky sparkles with a simple alternating slanted stitch. The whole project works up fast with easy stitches in a small size that packs a punch! If we don’t see the northern lights on our trip we’ll create our own!

This class is suitable for beginner stitchers.

The legendary search for the Northwest Passage, a sea route between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans through the Arctic Ocean, is a story of exploration and while we won’t be as far north as the Northwest Passage, we will have our own journey of discovery! Debbie’s “Passages” explores a multitude of canvas stitches in varied textures. This project packs a lot into a relatively small area: double fan doubleds, Jessicas, 8 pointed stars, Milanese pinwheels, crescents, sprat’s heads, Amadeus, herringbone squares, waffle stitches and other pattern stitches like Bargello, rice, brick, double brick, fern, layered cross stitch, Rhodes and pavilion diamonds.

This class is recommended for Intermediate/Advanced stitchers, however Debbie has students of all levels in her classes and writes her instructions with beginner stitchers in mind.
