Stitching Opportunities Galore!

Bring a project of your own choosing and/or enjoy the cruise stitch-along project. We welcome stitchers of all levels! Onboard, we have a dedicated space for our casual stitching time in the ship’s conference center. This is our very own space and we always put it to good use!

Classes

Fire and Ice by Toni Gerdes, one of the classes offered on our needlework cruise to Alaska
Fire and Ice ©Toni Gerdes. Used with permission.

We are delighted to welcome Toni Gerdes for her second cruise with Stitchers’ Escapes, teaching her spectacular piece Fire & Ice as a two-day class! Though she is well known as a needlepoint teacher, Toni’s designs are easily mastered by cross stitchers, too.

In addition, Stitchers’ Escapes founder Jean Farish will teach a selection of both counted thread and needlepoint classes.

Class registration will open about seven months prior to the sail date. Onboard classes and group shore excursions are optional additions to the stated cruise fares.

Fees & Fares

We accept payments in US dollars, made by personal check, credit card, or debit card.

For each cabin type, we offer both a Stitcher price and a Non-stitcher price. All prices include the cruise fare, all taxes and port fees, and gratuities. Each guest also receives a $150 on board credit and the Classic Beverage Package. However, classes, travel insurance, and shore excursions during our ports of call are not included.

The Stitcher fare includes group onboard activities, the stitch-along project, and our special stitcher goodie bag. Classes are optional, and not included in your fare. The Non-stitcher price is for your traveling companion who does not want the stitch-along project or the stitcher goodie bag.

We offer your choice of stateroom configurations on a first-come, first-served basis. All include a sitting area, private bath with shower, hair dryer, TV, phone, and 110/220 electrical outlets. All cabins have two twin beds that can convert to a queen. We have a limited number of each type in our group inventory.

We love group travel! We can provide special benefits that are not available on an individual reservation. However, this means fare discounts offered by Celebrity Cruises are not allowed under our contract. You must register through Stitchers’ Escapes. Send questions to Jean: jean@stitchersescapes.com.

Deposit Info and How to Register

Please read carefully.

Registration opens on Saturday, February 22 at 11am Eastern Time. We will send out an email announcement to our newsletter subscribers and post it in our Facebook group.

Your registration is secure with a $300 per person non-refundable deposit. Final payment will be due on or before February 15, 2021.

Payment Options

After you submit your registration, we will send you an invoice through “Square,” the same payment software you probably use at salons and small businesses everywhere. You can pay online with any major credit or debit card, or by mailing a check.

Your invoice will include a deposit due within 30 days, and your balance divided in to equal payments due on the following schedule:

  • First Payment: July 15, 2020
  • Second Payment: August 15, 2020
  • Third Payment: November 15, 2020
  • Final Payment: February 15, 2021

Our system sends automated reminders prior to the due date, on the due date, and after the due date if the invoice remains unpaid.

If you are not paying the fare for all occupants of your cabin, your cabin mate(s) must submit a registration form and deposit within 7 days or the organizers reserve the right to release your cabin. If you have not yet arranged to share your cabin, you may register and a cabin will be held for you at the discretion of the organizers. Until all people in a cabin pay their deposit(s), the cabin is under a tentative hold.

How to Register

To register, be prepared to pay your deposit and have the following information for yourself and any cabin mates for whom you are paying the fare:

  • Passport details, including name, country of citizenship, date of birth, and gender
  • Cabin preference (we assign cabins on a first-come, first-served basis)

Roommates

We do not keep a list of people who want to come and are seeking roommates. We encourage you to use your own network and social media to find a suitable roommate. Our Stitchers’ Escapes group Facebook page is a good way to let it be known that you want to join the cruise and are looking for someone to share a cabin.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/stitchersescapescruise/

Are you a first time cruiser? Here’s some general information that may be useful. First, the price of your cruise includes meals from many onboard venues. In addition, your fare covers most beverages – non-premium bottled water, premium coffees, juice, soda, and premium teas. The beverage package associated with your cabin type adds beer, wine, spirits and cocktails to the list of included drinks. Guests who receive the Classic Beverage Package will be able to upgrade to the Premium Beverage package at their own expense prior to the cruise or on board. The night time entertainment is also included.

Optional expenses include: excursion fees, speciality dining, spa treatments, or special activities like a wine tasting.

We have booked the spectacular conference center for our classes and casual stitch gatherings and 70 sleeping cabins in five categories for the stitchers and their non-stitching companions.

Dinner Seating

Our group will be dining during the early dinner seating. We sit together at various tables in the same section of the main dining room.
